Louis John Augustino

March 1, 1975 – August 3, 2026

Louis John Augustino, affectionately known as Louie, passed away suddenly on August 3, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a profound emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Louie was a beloved son, brother, uncle, godfather, cousin, family member, and friend. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Augustino, and his father, John Augustino. He is survived by his loving sister, Jean Marie Farkas (Andy); his cherished godson and nephew, Andrew Farkas; his stepmother, Regina Augustino; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who became family along the way.

A proud alumnus of Roman Catholic High School, Louie carried with him a lifelong love of sports. He was an avid soccer player and enjoyed baseball, especially cheering for the Phillies and the Yankees. His passion for collecting baseball cards was another reflection of his ability to find joy in the things he loved.

Louie was an incredible barber by trade, but his greatest gift was not something he learned behind a barber chair. It was his ability to make people feel remembered and cared for. He never forgot a birthday and could always be counted on to send a card, not only for birthdays, but for the simplest milestones and life events. It was his way of saying, “I love you, I’m thinking of you, you matter to me.” And to so many people, Louie made sure they knew they mattered.

He had a heart that was bigger than words can express. He treasured his family, valued his friendships, and had a special way of making people feel like they belonged. His kindness, humor, generosity, and genuine love for others will be remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Louie may have left us far too soon, but the love he gave so freely will remain forever in every birthday card saved, every baseball card treasured, every story shared, and every heart he touched.

His life was a gift, his memory is a blessing, and he will be loved and missed always.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9 AM to 11 AM at McCafferty Sweeney Slabinski and Barnes Funerals and Cremations, 2614 Orthodox Street, Philadelphia, PA 19137. (Valet parking on premises)

Words of Remembrance will begin 11 AM followed by his burial in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, a short walk from the funeral home, where Louie and his father, John Augustino, will be laid to rest with his mother.
